Payment and Pricing

All prices listed are considered base prices. These prices can be influenced by many factors:

  • Character Complexity

  • Character count

  • Complex backgrounds

  • Low amount of reference information

  • Overall amount of detail or additional complexity

Avenues for contact are provided in the Home section, including Email and Twitter, which have the fastest response rate in terms of getting in contact for orders. Including information about the piece you are commissioning in the initial message helps immensely.
It is likely I will ask a few questions to get a clearer idea on the order as well during any further discussion.
Examples for helpful information to include would be:

  • Character name

  • Reference sheets

  • Background info

  • Rough sketch of illustration if possible, any visuals can help immensely.

  • Inspirational materials. This includes illustrations close to the general feel of what you'd like to see in your commission.

Typically after discussing the specifics of a commission, including payment, I will work on a sketch (or several) and show it to the client.
After approving the sketch, I will send an invoice with the agreed upon price point.
Currently I only take payment through paypal invoices.

Adding a deadline for a project will incur a fee, this will have to be discussed at length.

Additions to projects

Project additions can include anything from extra characters to more advanced backgrounds. Props such as weapons, complex outfits and vehicles vary in price depending on their complexity.Creatures, vehicles and mechs will require more involved discussion with the client, as research for these kinds of illustrations may be more involved.Deadlines may incur an additional fee and require discussion before proceeding. This may range from $25-200 USD depending on how close the date is to the time of request.Commercial rights like using a completed piece as album art and similar uses will incur a fee of an additional 50% of the original price.Merchandising rights like producing prints of a completed piece will incur a fee of an additional 200% of the original price.

For the most part, a typical reference sheet will include a shaded 'main' front facing angle, back side angle, and side angle.Color palette is included by default, and backgrounds typically remain simple for the sake of readability. These projects may take significantly more time than other types of illustrations.
